Course Description

The National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering is an introductory qualification for secondary students interested in Mechanical Engineering or wishing to pursue a career in Maintenance, General Engineering, Marine and Fabrication, or Machining and Tool Making.
The qualification is made up of three Level 1 Unit Standards, intended to provide students with a well-balanced, practical, and theoretical course that combines basic skills and knowledge.
Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in engineering, and successful completion of the Year 9 or Year 10 Product Design and Manufacturing course would be an advantage.
