If you have an interest and passion for health, the health industry, promoting a healthy lifestyle, keeping safe, and promoting safety to self and others, then join up here.
In this course, students will explore learning through health-related contexts. We will reflect on the nature of wellbeing and how to promote it.
We will focus on resilience and personal and social responsibility, and explore how this contributes to the wellbeing of others and the community.
We will develop an understanding of lifestyle, economic, social, cultural, political and environmental factors that influence health, and will cover a variety of health concepts and strategies which continue to be explored through NCEA Level 3 Health.
The key learning areas are mental health, sexuality education, body care and physical safety, drug education and nutrition. Some offsite work may occur.
Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in Health Education.
Course Costs
This Course Contribution covers the cost of offsite activities (including travel), and guest speakers.
Students will also require a 60-page Clearfile, and a 1B5 exercise book.
