NCEA Level 2 Digital Technologies - Programming
Course Description

In this course, we will use advanced programming processes and techniques to develop a computer programme, use advanced techniques to develop a network and demonstrate understanding of a computer science concept.
In Level 2, we will learn C# programming language. We will use appropriate project management tools and techniques to plan the development of a project and write the code using advanced programming techniques. Decompose, trial and test the programme to ensure that it works on a sample of cases.
Some of the computer science concepts are: Computer Security, Encryption, Error Control, Complexity and Tractability, and Artificial Intelligence. Identifying the computer science concept, providing details of how the concept is used, implemented or occurs. Explaining how the concept has been or could be applied to address an opportunity and explaining the relevant mechanisms which may be the techniques, principles or procedures that shape the concept.
Recommended Prior Learning
Students should have at least 12 credits in Level 1 Digital Technologies or Level 1 Digital Technologies - Programming, OR gain the approval of the Teacher-in-Charge.
