NCEA Level 2 Engineering
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Drew McWhinnie.
Level 2 Engineering continues to build on the skills we developed in the Level 1 Engineering course and offers Unit Standards that are industry-level, and are requirements for Engineering trades apprentices. This means that credits earned are cross-credited if students enter into a relevant apprenticeship, or tertiary training towards such careers as general engineering, machining, tool making, fitting, engineering maintenance, fabrication, and marine engineering.
Recommended Prior Learning
Students should have at least 12 credits in either Level 1 Engineering, Level 1 Product Design or Level 1 Construction, OR successfully complete an interview with the Head of Department of Technology to determine the suitability of the course for your desired career pathway.
