NCEA Level 2 Food and Nutrition
Course Description

Understanding the impact of our food choices on our wellbeing is essential for life.
In this course you will develop your practical skills and have the opportunity to create your own recipes, as well as:
Food sustainability. Food waste is a global issue and we will explore ways to reduce this and put these ideas into practice.
Nutritional issue. We all have our own beliefs and values around food. We will take a controversial topic and explore how these beliefs and values impact on our food choice and therefore our wellbeing.
Health promotion. How do we get messages into society to encourage good eating
Students will do a mix of internal and external assessment tasks.
By the end of this course students will have developed their creative and critical thinking skills, They will be able to work in teams, have good communication skills and good management skills,
Recommended Prior Learning
You should have at least 14 credits in Level 1 Food & Nutrition, OR have an interview with the Head of Department to determine the suitability of the course for your desired career pathway.
