NCEA Level 2 Fashion and Design
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Nirtika Niranjan.
This is an academic and practical based course where students will learn about technological processes associated with soft materials which will be completed over three assessments.
The first project focuses on design drawing, where students develop a brief to address a need or opportunity. Through drawing and design skills, students will develop a conceptual design of an outfit.
The second project focuses on the practical skills where students develop patterns and construct an outfit.
Students end the course with a Fashion Show held at the Technology Exhibition, an opportunity to exhibit their work at Te Uru Art Gallery and Lynn Mall.
Recommended Prior Learning
Students should have at least 12 credits in Level 1 Fashion & Design, OR gain the approval of the Head of Department of Technology.
