NCEA Level 2 Science General
Course Description

This course is developed in response to student needs.
We will complete standards in Earth and Space Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
This course consists of 4 internal assessments and 1 external assessment.
The Course Overview below is an example of how the course could look:
Course Overview
Term 1
We will cover an Earth and Space Science Internal and then move on to a Physics Internal Assessment.
Term 2
We will start the term with a Biology Internal Assessment, followed by a Chemistry Internal Assessment.
Term 3
We will be studying for the External Assessment. The last couple of weeks before the Derived Grade Exams will either be used to practice for the Externals or to pick up another Internal.
Term 4
We will use this term to practice for the External or finish up the final Internal commenced last term.
Recommended Prior Learning
You should have at least 10 credits in Achievement Standards from Level 1 double science or Level 1 Science General, including 5 credits from external assessments. The course is one that is co-constructed from a wide range of standards. Students will choose a maximum of 5 standards with a total of around 18 credits.
