NCEA Level 3 Child Health and Development

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Drew McWhinnie.

In this course, we will continue to develop knowledge and skills in the practical care and education of young children, in a New Zealand ECE setting.

All assessments are internal Unit Standards and contribute towards the National Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education.

Students will be required to participate in a placement at an ECE service for two days a week during Term 3 or 4 in order to complete the practical components of three of the assessment tasks.

Please note that some of the standards offered in 2024 are TBC due to nearing their expiry date (set by NZQA).
