Year 10 Visual Art
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Rogan James.
This course is designed to help you gain skills and knowledge in the Visual Arts, and prepare you for the NCEA Level 1 Visual Art courses offered at Year 11.
You will work on two different projects, each being approximately ten weeks in length. The aim is to introduce you to new materials and techniques, with a focus on drawing and painting processes. You will be expected to plan out your ideas, develop your work through a number of stages, and explore and control a range of different art media.
Your coursework will culminate in a highly resolved painted artwork on a wooden round which will be displayed in school and you can take home at the end of the year.
In Year 10, students can take both Art options (Year 10 Visual Art and/or Year 10 Photography).
