Year 10 Product Design & Manufacturing
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Nirtika Niranjan.
In this course we will learn how the creative problem solving process, design communication techniques, and construction methods are used to develop solutions to problems.
We will focus on the performance properties of materials, the physical and social environment, and sustainable solutions in a group context.
We will have the opportunity to work creatively and analytically to identify, develop, trial and evaluate potential solutions. Students will also have the opportunity to test and trial 3D printing and laser cutting.
Projects will be manufactured in the school’s specialist technology rooms.
This subject prepares students for NCEA Level 1 Product Design, Fashion and Design, Construction and Engineering Technology courses.
