Year 10 Social Studies
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Tracey Derbyshire.
Year 10 Social Studies has three main topics.
We start the year understanding and questioning the concept of war, with case studies on the Waikato War and New Zealand's conscientious objection to World War One.
In topic two, we look at sustainable resource use, including how New Zealand companies are responding to fast fashion, and the strengths and weaknesses of our forestry industry.
Finally, we do a topic on Government, to understand how government systems operate and how people can influence government policy.
This is a CORE subject.
