NCEA Level 1 Design and Visual Communication
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: N. Niranjan.
Students will learn how to use the design process to creatively solve a range of design problems. The course covers projects in two areas; Spatial (architectural) Design for example the exterior and interior design of small buildings and Product Design the design of 3D objects for example electronic items, furniture and lighting.
In this subject, students will gain knowledge on how to produce and communicate design ideas using a range of drawing methods, physical and digital modelling, computer design programs and visual presentation techniques.
Recommended Prior Learning
Successful completion of the Year 9 and/or Year 10 Design and Visual Communication course would be an advantage.
