Year 10 Mathematics
Course Description

Year 10 Mathematics is a core subject which prepares students for Level 1 NCEA Mathematics in Year 11. Students will focus on all three strands of the New Zealand Mathematics and Statistics Curriculum with the aim of mastery of all concepts at phase 4 of the Curriculum.
Topics throughout the year focus on:
- Number
- Algebra
- Measurement & Geometry
- Statistics & Probability
Students will complete the NCEA Numeracy Common Assessment Activity (CAA) to gauge their mastery of taught concepts and processes.
In a wider sense, Mathematics is vital for all trades and professions, and leads to pathways to engineering, sciences, medicine, computer sciences, finance, physics, surveying, seismic geology, meteorology, and aviation and more. This course aims to begin equipping students with the practical Mathematical skills to be successful in such career pathways.
This is a CORE subject.
