NCEA Level 3 Health Education
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: R. Beeston.
This course explores the promotion of safety for self and society, looking at both a New Zealand, and world view.
We will focus on health practices in New Zealand, and ethical issues facing New Zealand and the world, including drug issues in our society.
We will develop an understanding of lifestyle, economic, social, cultural, political and environmental factors which influence health, and explore health strategies in the context of New Zealand and global societies. This provides the platform for students to critically analyse national and international issues, and their impacts on society.
Students will also analyse strategies for developing and making positive change.
