Course Description

We will cover standards from within the Earth and Space Science, Education for Sustainability, Biology and Chemistry domains. You will be assessed against multiple Achievement Standards, contextualised within a given rich context. 

There are no external assessments in this course or course endorsement considerations.

Course Overview

Term 1
In Term 1 you will be working towards your first 7 credits through studying ocean acidification. This will also provide a number of UE Literacy credits (both reading and writing).

Term 2
In Term 2 you will complete your first Internal, worth 7 credits, and start the second Internal, worth 7 credits, studying Kauri dieback. This will also provide a number of UE Literacy credits (both reading and writing).

Term 3
In Term 3 you will complete your second Internal, worth 7 credits, and start the final Internal assessment (worth 4 credits), studying the discoveries we have made about Mars.

Term 4
Term 4 will be spent completing the final Internal and working towards completing your Level 3 NCEA Certification.
