Course Description

If you have an interest and passion for physical education then this course is for you.
We will focus on movement and its contribution to the development of self and others.
Foundational Māori values are explored in order to understand and appreciate movement, accept challenges, relate positively to others, and demonstrate constructive attitudes and values.
We will learn through a variety of contexts including, recreation, sport, fitness, and adventure, to promote and support the development of physical and social skills, foster critical thinking, and understand the significance of physical activity in our society.
Key biophysical concepts of functional anatomy, biomechanics, skill learning, exercise physiology, active participation, team work, and sport performance will also be explored.
You will participate in a variety of activities, sports, and exercise, and be assessed through both theory and authentic learning contexts.
Course Costs
This Course Contribution covers the cost of offsite activities (including transport).
Students will also require a 60-page Clearfile, and a 1B5 exercise book.
