NCEA Level 2 Digital Technologies
Course Description

In this course, we will conduct an inquiry to propose a digital technologies outcome, then use advanced techniques to develop the outcome as well as to develop a database. For the external assessment a summary of developing the digital outcome is presented.
Conducting an inquiry involves deciding on an inquiry focus and developing inquiry question(s). The other components of the inquiry are: undertaking research, organising and analysing the information, proposing an outcome and summarising the findings.
Using advanced techniques to develop a digital outcome involves: using appropriate tools and techniques, applying appropriate data integrity and testing procedures. Whole advanced techniques to develop a database involves: designing the structure, using appropriate tools and techniques to organise, query and present data.
Presenting a summary involves: describing the digital outcome that was developed and explaining the decisions that were made in the development process.
Recommended Prior Learning
Students should have gained at least 14 credits in Level 1 Digital Technologies or Level 1 Digital Technologies - Programming, OR gain the approval of the Teacher-in-Charge.
