NCEA Level 3 Digital Technologies - Programming
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: J. George.
In this course, we will use complex programming processes and techniques to develop a computer programme, use complex techniques to develop a network and analyse an area of Computer Science.
We will build on the C# knowledge gained in Level 2 by using complex programming techniques to develop a computer programme that involves writing code for a graphical user interface (GUI). Using complex processes involves using recognised and appropriate project management tools and techniques to plan the development of the programme, decomposing it and then trialing and testing the programme.
Some of the computer science areas selected are: Computer Vision, Big Data, Computer Graphics and Network Communication Protocols. Analysing a computer science means giving an explanation of the key aspects of the chosen computer science area, relevant algorithms or other mechanisms behind the area, how the area is used giving examples and the key problems or issues related to the area and how these may have been or may be addressed.
